THE MIGHTY ARM OF GOD

Isaiah 59:1 - “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.”

These words offer comfort and assurance to every believer. They remind us that our God is not distant or indifferent but actively involved in our lives, ready to extend His mighty arm on our behalf. Throughout the Bible, we encounter stories of God’s powerful intervention in the lives of His people. From the parting of the Red Sea to the walls of Jericho crumbling down, God’s arm of deliverance is evident. One striking example is found in the life of Daniel. When Daniel faced the den of lions, it seemed like an impossible situation. Yet, God’s mighty arm was not restrained. Despite the king’s decree and the hungry beasts, God closed the mouths of the lions, demonstrating His power to save His faithful servant (Daniel 6:22).

Similarly, Jesus extended His powerful arm to heal the sick, raise the dead, and deliver the oppressed. One poignant example is the story of the woman with the issue of blood. Despite her years of suffering and desperation, she believed that if she could only touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, she would be made whole. In an instant, Jesus turned and declared, “Daughter, your faith has made you well” (Luke 8:48). As believers, we can take refuge in the truth that the same God who performed miracles in ages past is still at work today. His arm is not weakened, nor His ear dull to our cries. He is ever-present, ready to intervene on behalf of those who trust in Him. Therefore, let us lean on His unfailing arm of strength and trust that He will show up on our behalf.
