PRAYER FOR GRACE
Zechariah 4:7 - “Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’
In Zechariah 4:7, we encounter the profound concept of grace: "What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel, you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of 'God bless it! God bless it!'" This verse encapsulates the transformative power of God's grace, turning seemingly insurmountable obstacles into pathways of blessing and victory. Grace, in its essence, is the unmerited favour and blessing bestowed upon us by God. It is His divine empowerment that enables us to overcome obstacles, achieve our goals, and live according to His will. The apostle Paul beautifully defines grace in Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." As believers, we understand that in everything we do, we require the grace of God. Sometimes, the responsibilities placed upon us seem larger than our abilities, and the hours in a day are insufficient. In these moments, we must cry out for the grace of God to sustain us and enable us to accomplish what He has set before us. With His grace, even the most daunting tasks become achievable.
Grace permeates every aspect of our lives, from our salvation to our daily walk with God. It is a gift freely given by God, demonstrating His boundless love and mercy towards us. Let us seek to understand and appreciate the depth of God's grace, and may we cry out for His grace in times of need, trusting in His faithfulness to see us through.
