WRAP ME IN FAVOUR, OH LORD

Esther 2:15 - "Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go into the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all who saw her."

In the biblical narrative, we encounter various characters who experienced divine favour in remarkable ways. Take Joseph, for instance, who, despite being sold into slavery and unjustly imprisoned, found favour in the eyes of Potiphar and later Pharaoh. Genesis 39:21 highlights this, stating, "But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison."

Similarly, we witness Ruth, a foreigner in a land unfamiliar to her, finding favour in the eyes of Boaz as she gleaned in his fields. Ruth 2:10 records Boaz's words to her, saying, "Then she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, 'Why have I found favour in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?'" Through these accounts, we see that divine favour transcends circumstances and cultural barriers, opening doors and paving the way for unexpected blessings.

These stories serve as powerful reminders that, like Esther, Joseph, and Ruth, we too can experience divine favour in our lives. As we align our hearts with God's purposes and walk in humility and obedience, we position ourselves to receive His favour. Let us, therefore, echo the prayer of these biblical characters, asking God to envelop us in His favour and lead us on paths of prosperity and success.
