REFLECTING ON PALM SUNDAY
Luke 19:38 -"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
As we reflect on Palm Sunday, let us delve into the significance of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The crowds welcomed Him with shouts of praise, spreading their cloaks and palm branches on the road before Him. This scene echoes the words of prophecy fulfilled, as spoken by Zechariah: "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey." (Zechariah 9:9).
Jesus, riding on a donkey, chose humility over grandeur, portraying His servant-hearted nature and kingship. This act embodies His message of humility and peace, demonstrating that true greatness is found in serving others. As believers, we are called to follow His example, embracing humility and servant leadership in our own lives.
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, leading to Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross for our salvation. It serves as a poignant reminder of His unconditional love and the depth of His sacrifice. Let us journey through Holy Week with hearts full of gratitude, reverence, and a renewed commitment to follow Christ wholeheartedly.
