TRUSTING IN GOD'S ABILITY TO RESTORE

Joel 2:25a - “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten..."

In the story of Samson, we witness the power of God's restoration as his hair grew back, symbolising the renewal of his strength and purpose (Judges 16:22). Similarly, Abraham and Joseph experienced restoration in their lives after seasons of loss and adversity (Genesis 21:1-7; Genesis 41:41-45). Despite Samson's mistakes and the consequences, he faced, God remained faithful to him. Through Samson's prayer for restoration, we see that God is not limited by our failures or weaknesses. He is able to breathe new life into our circumstances and restore what has been lost (Judges 16:28).

Abraham waited years for the fulfilment of God's promise of a son, but God was faithful to restore his hope and bless him with Isaac in his old age (Genesis 21:1-7). Likewise, Joseph experienced restoration after being unjustly imprisoned, as God elevated him to a position of authority in Egypt (Genesis 41:41-45). As believers, we can take comfort in knowing that God is a God of restoration. He is able to redeem even the most hopeless situations and turn them around for our good (Romans 8:28). All we need to do is to come to Him in prayer, aligning our will with His, and trusting in His timing and purposes (Matthew 6:10).

Whatever losses or setbacks we may face, let us not lose hope. Instead, let us lift our prayers to the God of restoration, knowing that He is able to make all things new (Revelation 21:5). May we trust in His faithfulness and provision as we seek His restoration in our lives.
