LESSON FROM HANNAH'S PRAYER
1 Samuel 2:1 - "And Hannah prayed and said, 'My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord, my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance.'"
In 1 Samuel, we learn from Hannah’s story a powerful lesson of persistence and victory. Hannah, a woman of fervent prayer, was facing the anguish of barrenness. Yet, amidst her sorrow, she displays unwavering decisiveness and an unyielding countenance in prayer. Chapter 1 unfolds Hannah's resolve as she pours out her soul before the Lord in Shiloh. Though misunderstood by Eli the priest, she remains steadfast, demonstrating the power of earnest supplication. Her visit to Shiloh becomes a turning point, marked by a determination unlike any other.
The lesson for today's believers is profound. Like Hannah, we are called to pray fervently, persistently, and without ceasing. If past prayers seem unanswered, let us echo Hannah's faith by praising in prayer. And if the heavens still seem silent, let us follow her example by making vows unto the Lord, remembering always to honour them faithfully. In our persistence and unwavering trust, we move the hand of God, just as Hannah did, even in the face of closed wombs and seemingly insurmountable challenges. And in due season, we too shall join in the victorious song of praise, echoing Hannah's triumph and rejoicing in the deliverance of our faithful God. I see you sing a new song of praise, victory, and rejoicing in God’s deliverance as you persist in praying to God.
