CULTIVATE A PRAYER DISCIPLINE

Luke 18:1 – “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”

God created man for intimacy and fellowship. When you make that your priority, all other things will flow from that. God did not make man to live without Him; He made man for fellowship. Your prayer life is a way of building an altar and environment of fellowship that brings intimacy with God. You cannot be inconsistent in your prayer life and build intimacy with God. You must create a disciplined prayer watch with decisions and structures that are consistent. Not only that, but you must also be sensitive to the Holy Spirit because there are times when the Holy Spirit may lay a burden on you to pray that you need to respond immediately.

Having a wonderful experience with the Holy Spirit should not just be a desire but a DECISION. Men who are decided are those who rule the world. It is not just enough to have desires. The devil is not afraid of your desires; he is afraid of your decisions. Decide today that a day will not pass without you appearing in the presence of God for at least one hour. That is where strength is received. Psalm 84:7 says, “They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.” Daily renewal of strength is received from the presence of the Lord. You cannot be too busy to pray when you can pray in the Spirit. Your flesh will contest your prayer life, but your determination and decision will bring victory. If you want to know how to pray, start praying now. God wants to speak to men, but they are not always ready to hear Him. The accuracy of your hearing determines the degree of your fruitfulness in the Great Commission.
