GOD IS YOUR HELP AND SUSTENANCE

Psalm 54:4 – “Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.”

It is not maybe God is your help, BUT surely, certainly, assuredly! God will help you; there is no doubt about it! He says He is our ever-present help in times of trouble. God is present in your situation. All you need to do is to call on Him to help you. He is not your past or future help, but a very present help. God’s help is not a token card that can be exhausted. All you need to do is to “cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail)” (Psalm 55:22). Stop holding onto the loss. You cannot overcome the pain with your strength. Release it to the Lord and He will make sure He heals and helps you. God will never allow the righteous to fail, slip or fall.

As if He being our help is not enough, He sustains also. God is the one who sustains us according to Psalm 54:4. He has promised and “… He will sustain and uphold you …” It means God will defend, save and preserve your life. He will comfort you. He will carry you, feed and nurse you. Then He will nourish and nurture you. He will supply and provide all your needs. He does not stop there. He will stand by you, stick up for you, keep you going and keep you from falling. He will keep you alive and favour you. This is what God means by “I will sustain you.”
