HE WILL DO IT AGAIN

2 Kings 4:1 – “The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, ‘Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”

At times, things can seem dark, and the mountains of life can seem insurmountable, but light shines best in darkness and God is so much greater than that mountain. Throughout the scriptures, when people were in their worst situations, they knew what to do - go find the man of God and let us see what God has to say about this situation. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, the widow had a creditor at her door demanding payment or else he was going to take her two sons as payment. She went to the man of God for help, and the man of God with a word from God, instructed her to ‘go borrow vessels from neighbours’ and she did.

God did not tell her to put her sons to work. No, because that would have made it her responsibility, but God put the responsibility on Himself. It was not her responsibility to get herself out of debt. All she had to do was borrow the vessels, but God was the source of her getting out of debt. What are you trusting God for that looks impossible? God can be trusted. He has done it before, He can do it again. Never allow your heart to faint or fail you. He did it for the Widow of Zarephath, at the gate of Samaria and He will do it for you too in this season and you shall testify. Just believe.
