FRUITFULNESS IS GOD’S DESIRE

Genesis 1:28 – “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion...”

The first commandment God gave man after creation was “Be fruitful.” God desires that everyone must be fruitful and multiply. Jesus also stressed on this commandment in John 15 saying: “Any branch that does not bear fruit he takes away.” The Bible records that God is the gardener. Unfruitfulness is an offence to the gardener (God), punishable with being “cut off”. Fruitfulness is the desire and glory of God in any life. There is no point for a tree to stand if it does not bear fruit. The purpose of the gardener is to get fruits from the tree he has planted. The Bible says “why cumbereth it the ground?” How long have you been planted in His house?

God has an insatiable desire for fruit. You cannot bear fruit enough; God Himself is so rich; He continues to increase, multiply, and fill everywhere. Fruitfulness is the desire, goal, and pursuit of the gardener. Therefore, fruitfulness is not an option, but a command given with strict instructions. God expects you to bear fruit to qualify you to become His disciple (John 15:8). The question the master asked was ‘why use up the ground’; in order words ‘why waste space?’ God is saying why have I lent you my life and you have nothing to show forth? The tree that bears fruit is pruned to bear more fruits. Fruitfulness has direct relationship to answered prayer and it glorifies God (John 15:8, 16). Therefore, go forth and bear fruit in this season.
