YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED FOR A PURPOSE

John 1:6 – “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.”

John the Baptist had his commission from God to come and tell us about the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He may have special gifts, but he is not God. Like John, you are also sent from God and He has a purpose for sending you to this earth. You are not here by accident, so find your purpose on earth.

We sometimes think people like John the Baptist, Moses and Paul are superhuman, but they are people like you and I who decided to heed the call of God. You may not have seen God in the “burning bush” like Moses or received instructions directly from His mouth like Paul; better still, for an angel to come and announce your birth, but remember that you are sent from God and He has a purpose for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). Listen, “there was a man sent by God” and you could be that man or woman but the question you must ask yourself is ‘Am I living the purpose of God for my life?’

What we must not forget is that God has a purpose for all of us and every human being on earth will one day stand before God and give account about our lives. Discover what you have been called to do. Jesus said, “my will is to do the will of my father and accomplish it”. You can only fulfil your purpose and mission on earth by simple obedience and submission to God.
