FIXING YOUR EYES ON JESUS

Hebrews 12:2 – “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

In our spiritual journey, our vision is crucial for overcoming obstacles and fulfilling our calling. Like a wounded eagle, we may find ourselves incapacitated by life's challenges. Jesus, walking on water, approached the disciples in a storm, despite waves crashing against their vessel. Peter, who fixed his eyes on Jesus and stepped out in faith, defied the laws of nature and walked on the turbulent sea. However, when his focus wavered, he began to sink. Similarly, our spiritual journey is fraught with distractions - past failures, comparisons with others, and the allure of worldly pursuits. Yet, like the wounded eagle, we must summon the strength to lift our gaze towards the Son, Jesus Christ. As we do, we tap into His power and provision to soar above life's challenges. We must resist the temptation to look at others or dwell on our shortcomings. Instead, we must fix our gaze steadfastly on Jesus, seeking His example and guidance in every circumstance. Through prayer, meditation on His Word, and communion with Him, we align ourselves with His divine purpose for our lives.

Just as the eagle's vision determines its escape from capture, our spiritual vision determines our capacity for growth and impact. Let us, therefore, cast aside every distraction and fixation that obstructs our view of Christ. As we continue to look to Him, we find the strength and clarity needed to fulfil our God-given assignments. Today, let us fix our eyes unwaveringly on Jesus, the source of our strength and the fulfilment of our faith. In doing so, we embrace His guidance and soar into the fullness of our divine destiny.
