A CLEAR DIRECTION BRINGS RESULT
Psalm 32:8 – “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shall go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
In life, it is not enough just to see clearly but a necessity. Clarity of vision provides a clear sense of direction, enabling us to make decisions from a broader understanding of any situation. Unclear vision caused by the dullness of the heart or the unwillingness to be led by the Spirit could cause one to make bad decisions. Sentimental feelings could cloud one's judgement, which is why it is important to be led by the Spirit. You are safer that way because emotions come and go, but the decisions made in that moment of anger, sadness, desperation, or atmospheric excitement could have irreversibly far-reaching consequences. Some of the worst decisions taken in the Bible were made when feelings got the best of people (Judges 11:30–40). Your feelings can change, whereas God's Word is constant. Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Thus, the safest place to be is in the Word and Will of God.
In Matthew 13:13–16, Jesus emphasises the significance of hearing, stressing the importance of clarity in discerning the truth. He aimed to enhance the understanding of His disciples in Luke 24:45 by revealing the scriptures in His light. Paul's prayer in Ephesians 1:18 underscores the significance of enlightenment that comes with knowing Christ, highlighting a sound mind, akin to Christ's, accurately interprets situations and makes precise judgements, resulting in beneficial and profitable outcomes. The person with the mind of Christ discerns situations and makes the right decisions.
