WINNING SOULS GIVES GOD PLEASURE

John 3:16 - “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [one and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Saviour] shall not perish but have eternal life.”

The souls of men are so important to God that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to redeem men. Anything a man can give his life for has got to be the most important thing to him. That is how much of a priority the souls of men are to the Lord. The heart of God beats with souls. It greatly grieves Him to see souls perish (2 Peter 3:9), and it gives Him great joy to see souls saved (Luke 15:7-10). Souls are so important to God that He is as willing to go after one soul and rejoice over him as He is to go after many (Luke 15:4-6). In other words, God would have still sent His Beloved Son to die if there was only one soul left on Earth. Knowing this about God and how important souls are to Him, it would be considered strange for our hearts as Christian believers to beat with anything other than the Father's heartbeat. Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, has the same heartbeat as His Father, and He went after souls for three and a half years of His ministry upon the earth. He lived for souls, died for souls, and is still living for souls.

Soul-winning involves working in partnership with the Holy Spirit to bring the men and women that Jesus died for to the Father. It is something we must do with utmost joy and pleasure. For us to be effective in our walk with God on Earth and please Him, His pleasure must become our pleasure, and His heartbeat must become our heartbeat.
