MAINTAIN PROPER ATTITUDE IN CRISIS

Job 13:15 - “Even though he kills me, I will hope in Him.”

Jesus encouraged His disciples that in the world there is trouble, but they should be of good cheer because He has overcome it for them. In the same way as Christians, we must understand that challenge is a platform for God to demonstrate His power. Some people have made wrong decisions in crises. Some Christians left their churches because of a crisis. Sometimes our maturity is tested during crises. David had the right attitude when he was in crisis. His enemies invaded Ziklag, took his wives and those of his men, took their properties, and burned the whole place. David and his men wept bitterly. David's men reacted negatively towards the situation. They spoke of stoning him. But David reacted in the right manner. 1 Samuel 30:6 says, “But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.”

David went to the Lord in prayer, and God gave him divine direction on how to recover all his losses. Whenever we find ourselves in crisis, we should always remember God's promises. He said, "Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me" (Psalm 50:15). We should not be discouraged in the face of a crisis. Christ did not promise us a smooth journey, but a safe landing. Jesus is the Lord over the storm. He promised us peace in times of trouble (John 16:33). God promised us His presence in both fire and water (Isaiah 43:2). We must confront any mountain and situation with the attitude that, with Christ in us, the situation must bow for you. We should hold on to God and remain resolute in Him when a crisis occurs. Certainly, He will deliver us according to His promise because He cannot fail. Therefore, do not be intimidated by the challenge; confront it from the perspective of victory.
