POWER OVER THE ENEMY

Luke 10:19 - "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Jesus told the disciples that He had given them power over the enemy. They were told that nothing would, by any means, hurt them or take advantage of them. This is the assurance that God has given to all of us as believers. James 4:7 says that when you resist the devil, he will flee from you, terrified. You need to know that the devil is already a defeated foe, and it is your responsibility to stop his manoeuvres and manipulations around you. He is programmed to flee when you resist him, and you resist him by maintaining your position over him with the knowledge of God's Word.

As one who is born again, not only has Jesus given you the power and the authority to cast out Satan, but He has also made you superior to him and all his demons. The devil has been working and walking around every day, looking for someone to destroy (1 Peter 5:8). He is out there whether you like it or not, whether you know it or not. We have a common enemy who is the devil, but the good news is that he is defeated because of the power of redemption. Therefore, do not make him (the devil) your problem; just stick to the Word of God and desire to grow in the knowledge of God's Word that will keep you victorious over its devices perpetually. The knowledge of the truth you know is what sets you free. It takes the power of God to put the enemy where he belongs.
