THE REALITY OF GRACE
Acts 4:33 – “… And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.”
Although we know some basic facts about grace, most of us do not have a full idea of what grace is. We know we were saved by it (Ephesians 2:8), but we have not even begun to understand the real power it can release into our lives. If you want to get a picture of what grace can do, look at what happened to the early Christians in Acts 4. They had been threatened by the religious leaders of Jerusalem and commanded not to speak or teach in Jesus’ name. Praying about the situation, they said, “Now Lord, we have been threatened, but we need your intervention. Release your power and give us boldness to carry on.” Do you know what happened because of that prayer? Verse 31 tells us that when “Great grace was released upon them all,” the whole building shook. Also, it was grace that enabled the apostles to work “many signs and wonders” (Acts 4:30-34).
There are many instances in the Bible that shows that Grace is real. It provides the supernatural power to make things happen! The same grace that was available to the early church is available for you. If the devil has been threatening you lately, follow the example of the early Christians. Get into prayer and say, ‘Lord, I do not care what the devil is saying, I am not going to back down.’ Take your stand in God and you will see what God will do.
