RECALL THE LORD’S MERCIES

Lamentation 3:21-23 – “But this I call to mind; therefore, I have hope. It is because of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great and beyond measure is your faithfulness.”

God is faithful and full of compassion. His mercies are new every morning. As a believer, simply knowing God is not enough to enjoy all that He has for you; there is a need for you to recall His mercies over you. You must remember His faithfulness and goodness every day. This will rekindle your faith as you appreciate His lovingkindness over your life. It is important to remind yourself of all His benefits. David spells these out in Psalm 103:1-8. God forgives your sins and heals all your diseases. If God is counting our sins against us, David said, no one can stand.

Despite all our mistakes and shortcomings, God still loves us and heals our minds from confusion, and our souls and bodies from attacks. By His supernatural healing and mercy, He makes us escape sicknesses that kill others. He makes His ways known to us. We could have been like sheep without direction, but He has been our guide and always leads us according to His will for our lives. You need to make it a point to recall His benefits; as you do, your confidence will increase. If He has done those things in the past, He can do the impossible in the future.
