Seeds of Wisdom

RECOGNISING SEASONS

Psalm 1:3 – “…which yields its fruit in its season.”

Life is in seasons, and one must recognise the folding of one season and the emergence of another, to maximise the opportunities that it presents. How can you recognise a new season? One way to know is that you will feel uncomfortable with where you are or that there will be an urge to do something new. Also, the grace that accompanies that season lifts, and what was once okay becomes unacceptable or irritating. Psalm 1:3 says that a successful person is like a tree planted by the streams of water which yields its fruit in its season. Be fruitful in your season, that is when blessing and success occur. The season for advancement and opportunity must be recognised and acted on for it to produce its fruits.

God’s principles are communicated to us in many ways; hence, there is a need to know the rules for each season. For example, spring is for training and discipline. This is when you begin to understand God’s purpose and prepare for it. Summer, on the other hand, is for maturing what was started in spring where the seeds that you sowed and nurtured then grow and multiply. Autumn is when you no longer have the passion of youth, but the steady calm of a seasoned veteran. One who has organised their life wisely work smarter since it is a season of transition to assess your accomplishments, enjoy your rewards and say that you have fought a good fight of faith and finished the course.
