YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT IS GOD’S APPOINTMENT
Romans 15:24 – “Whenever I journey to Spain, I shall come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while.”
The world is not going to devote itself to making us happy, and until we accept this reality, we cannot move forward. At times, life does not work out the way we plan. Paul wrote to the Romans, “I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain.” But he never got to Spain; instead, he landed in prison. But it was from there he wrote the Epistles. This implies that your disappointment may not be too bad after all, it can sometimes turn out to be God’s appointment to orchestrate you to destiny. The disappointment of Joseph – being accused of what he did not do, which landed him in prison, became his appointment for destiny and dream fulfilled. Proverbs 16:9 says, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Some Philosophers argue why life works as it does, but they lack the understanding of the ways of God. If you live to be a hundred, what good is it if resentment and regret keep you from enjoying life? There are various accounts of people who experienced failures of some sort or some form of delay in the Bible; however, things turned around for their good. People like Abraham had what seemed like a delay or disappointment in God’s promises coming to pass in his life, but God came through for him, and today, we still refer to his testimony. Hannah, Rachael, Joseph, and Ruth are examples of the faithful God turning the disappointments of men into appointments. When God is at work, whatever you are going through today will work for your good. Trust Him!
