HE WILL DO MORE THAN YOU THINK

Genesis 48:11 - “And Israel said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!”

The story above brings tremendous encouragement. Jacob believed that Joseph was dead because of the evidence of his clothes soaked in the blood of an animal depicting that he was devoured by a ravenous animal was his reality. Hence, he had no intention of seeing Joseph again let alone seeing Joseph and his sons (Jacob’s grandchildren). Similarly, there are things we give up on, maybe because the evidence before us suggests that it is impossible, possibly because you have waited for many years. Abraham told God to forget about the promises of Isaac and focus on Ishmael. As far as he was concerned that was never going to happen.

Little did he know that he would have Isaac and see Isaac marry. His focus was on Sarah and their biological clocks ticking fast. One would agree with Abraham because the question would be when would Isaac grow up and be useful to them? However, God had promised, and He would not fail.

Dear Reader, it may seem that, that one pertinent thing you are believing God for has not happened for a very long time. May I remind you that “He makes all things beautiful in its time” and He gives double for your trouble; so be assured that because you have waited for a long time, God will exceed your expectations, and like Jacob, you will say, “I did not expect that God will do it like this. I thought I was completely forgotten.” I encourage you to start praising God for that double blessing, “for surely there is an end, and your expectation will not be cut off.”
