FAITH FOR ACTION
Mark 5:36 – “As soon as Jesus heard the Word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, be not afraid, only believe.”
If your faith is just to get what you want from God, you have missed the point. Faith is not to get something from God. Faith is trusting God for who He says He is and doing what He has promised. God has made provision for all things, but we see by the Word and get direction on how to receive those things (1 John 5:4). We are overcome by our faith! Faith is not just positive thinking; nor a mere optimism. A man of faith is optimistic because it is God's Word that produces confidence. This implies that positive thinking in itself is not faith, but faith must produce positive thinking. Faith re-engineers the mind as one sees through the lens of the Word, such that if you were not thinking positively before, the exposure of the mind to the assurance of God's Word will cause a shift of mindset and disposition. Peter was petrified at the sight of Jesus walking on water and doubted that he could as well, but Jesus told him to "come" in order to dispel his doubt, and Peter started walking on the water until he shifted his gaze from the word of the One who told him to come.
God's Word exposes the mind to believing the best. The man of faith believes the best because he has seen the outcome by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). If God says it, then He will surely do it. The just shall live by faith. It is how the scriptures recommend that we live. Build your trust culture by giving room for God to come through for you. Also, walking by faith helps you see the endless possibilities of the Word. The more we practice walking by faith, the more we see God’s move. The just shall live by faith, so live by faith.
