IGNITING PASSION
2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
In our journey of faith, God gifts us with a spirit of power, love, and soundness of mind. This divine empowerment fuels our passion for Him and His kingdom. Hebrews 7:7 highlights the blessing of God's grace upon our lives, igniting a flame of passion within us. Just as Paul encouraged Timothy to fan into flames the gift of God (2 Timothy 1:6), we too are called to cultivate and nurture the passion kindled by His Spirit. Passion compels us to action. James 2:26 reminds us that faith without works is dead. As God revives our passion, let us step out in faith and obedience, aligning our actions with the fervour burning within us.
Amidst life's busyness, maintaining personal devotion is crucial. Like Jesus, who withdrew to pray in solitude (Luke 5:16), we need moments of quiet reflection to stoke the flames of passion.
Amidst corporate activities and communal worship, we must not neglect our personal walk with God. It is in these intimate moments of prayer, reflection, and obedience that the fire of passion is sustained and strengthened. Respecting our personal time with God ensures that the flames of zeal continue to burn brightly in our hearts. How then can we revive our lost passion? If our passion wanes, it is an opportunity for revival. Revelation 2:4 calls us to return to our first love, prioritising personal devotion and obedience to God's Word. As we embrace God's empowerment and cultivate a fervent passion for His kingdom, may our lives shine with His love and draw others into His embrace.
