THE PROSPEROUS PATH OF OBEDIENCE

“If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

Job 36:11

Job 36:11 paints a beautiful promise for those who choose to obey and serve God: "If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures." This verse unveils the essence of aligning our lives with God's will, emphasising that obedience and service lead to a life filled with divine blessings. Obedience to God is not a mere duty but a pathway to prosperity. It involves surrendering our will to His, aligning our actions with His commands, and embracing a lifestyle that reflects His holiness. Serving God complements obedience, as it involves actively ministering to others, sharing God's love, spending time in His presence, not forsaking the assembling of the brethren and using our gifts for His glory.

The promise of prosperity and pleasure in Job 36:11 extends beyond material wealth. It encompasses the richness of a life in communion with God, experiencing the joy of His presence, and finding fulfilment in fulfilling His purposes. As we step into this new year, let our primary desire be to obey and serve God wholeheartedly. Let every decision, every action, and every thought be guided by the desire to honour Him. In doing so, we position ourselves to receive the abundant blessings He has in store for us. Believer, I urge you in this new year, to prioritise obedience and service to God. As you seek His kingdom first, anticipate a life filled with His prosperity and pleasures. Trust in His promises and embrace the journey of obedience with joy.
