REKINDLE YOUR PASSION

“That is why I remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, [that inner fire-the special endowment] which is in you through the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].”

2 Timothy 1:6

Many have given up their dreams in frustration but when you have passion for your dream or vision, you cannot easily give up. This is the reason you must rekindle your passion for you to see your vision and dreams fulfilled. Proverbs 24:10 says: “If you give up in the day of adversity, your strength is not enough.” However, there are truths that you must know about passion – passion for God, passion for life, passion for souls, and passion for everything. A man who is not passionate will not succeed in anything because he can easily give up in frustration.

Passion is a gift from God. Paul told Timothy to keep his passion alive, stir up, and fan to flame the gift of God that was activated in him when he (Paul) laid hands on him. God gives us the passion to know the direction we should expand or channel our energy into. Some of us have passion for ministry and different things, but every Christian is supposed to have passion for the lost and go after souls. Not necessarily like an Evangelist or a Missionary, but on a one-on-one basis. Passion for souls is a mandate that every believer must embrace and run with (Matthew 28:18-20). You must keep your passion alive by feeding it like you feed a fire. A fire that is neglected will die, and so will passion. If you are married, you will understand this. If you and your spouse do not feed your passion for each other, you can get to a place where you are just living together like roommates. Therefore, feed the passion, rekindle it and do not allow it to die.
