KEYS TO ACCOMPLISH YOUR CAUSE
John 4:34 – “My meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish the work.”
There is a cause that you are to pursue and complete, but it will take some important keys to accomplish it. You must be single-minded (focused), and not double-minded (James 1:8). Two things will keep you focussed - a definition of your desired end and discipline. Jesus said in John 4:34 that “my meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish the work” – a defined end, and in John 17:4, “I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work, which thou gave me to do.” If you do not know where you are going, any road will look like it. Elisha knew what he wanted – “As thy soul lives, I will not leave thee.” Focusing on the benefits of your chosen course of action will always keep you focused irrespective of the challenges.
You must also be disciplined if you are to accomplish your cause. Christianity is a disciplined Christ-controlled life. The word discipline is not negative, but rather an integral part of a successful journey. It is your ability to gain self-mastery. Discipline is “operating as required and not as convenient.” To achieve anything meaningful in life, you must be disciplined in time management, and be conscious to use time wisely because time wasted can never be recovered. You must also be disciplined in what you eat (Daniel 1:8); be disciplined with your eyes and temperament. These are important to the fulfilment of your life’s assignment. My prayer is that God will help you.
