KNIT TOGETHER IN LOVE
Colossians 2:2 – “That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, …the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.”
It takes a heart knitted in love and unity to move forward and achieve great things in life. This is the secret of the disciples and many successful organisations. To see great things happen in our homes, families, church and society, our hearts must be knitted together in love; that is what God expects from believers. The word “agape” is translated as “love”. Agape does not mean “I will love you if…”. It is not conditional. The unconditional love of God is brought to life when a blood covenant relationship is established. We are covenanted by the blood of Jesus for He is in us and us in Him. The devil hates agreements between believers. The windows of Heaven open for people who walk in agreement and love one another.
Strife and unforgiveness have many dangers, with the most grievous being that they hinder prayers and rob a person of the promises of God. Remember that “the hand of God is not short that it cannot deliver nor His ear deaf that He cannot hear but our sins have separated us from Him” (Isaiah 59:1-2). 2 Corinthians 2:11 says that we are not ignorant of the enemy’s devices; we do not want him to take advantage of us as brothers and sisters or as Christians. To close the door against the devil’s works, we must mature in love - accept one another and become our brothers’ keepers. The moment you mess up and see signs of strife, make it right by saying to the person, “Please forgive me” or “I love you.”
