Seeds of Wisdom

Psalm 133:1 – “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”

David speaks of the pleasantness of unity adding, “There the Lord commanded the blessing.” When we strive to work together despite our differences, God is glorified. It also brings blessing upon what we do as a reward for our service. Satan knows this, so his strategy is to divide, bring unhappiness and steal the joy and blessing of serving the Lord. He knows the power, synergy and blessings that result from working in harmony; therefore, he makes every effort to bring division and misunderstanding. Whenever things begin to split and fall apart, and people are not in agreement, the devil is not far from it. That is why, as Christians, we must be sensitive that something needs to be put right in such times or moments.

Paul says in Ephesians 4:3, that we should make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace. He knew that sometimes it requires tremendous effort to be united. We cannot afford to be ignorant of Satan’s strategies to keep people in disunity. He will cause you to be offended against one another over little mistakes, over a harmless statement or read more into an innocent comment, ascribe impure motives to people’s behaviour or believe a lie. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of peace and unity who directs us into peaceful resolutions over issues. When we give Him room, He will make our conflicts become stepping stones to stronger relationships as we commit to understanding each other.
