BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD
Psalm 46:10 – “Be still and know that I am God.”
Our God is great and glorious. He rules over all circumstances and situations in life, especially everything contrary to the lives of His children. The Lord wants us to know Him first before all other things. Knowing God is more than confessing to being born again. It is more than our mouth professing of the knowledge of God but moving close to Him in our daily life. It is spending your time with Him in daily fellowship and knowing the operations of His hands through His Word. The Word of God presents us with what God can do and what He can do through us.
David is an example of one who knew His God and had confidence in Him. He displayed stillness when he came face to face with Goliath. All that David said was based on his faith in the knowledge of God. His great knowledge of God's supremacy made him disdain what was terrifying King Saul. His advancing to Goliath and conquering him was based on his certainty of what God can do. Faith always speaks victory over all the hordes of the devil. David never shivered at the presence of the enemy because he knew his God. David knew nothing about Goliath but when he surfaced, he knew the divine formulae that would conquer him immediately. Knowing God and building your faith in Him gives you rest and peace. That is why only those who believe entered into the rest of God. Today, be still and know that He is indeed God.
