PROMISE KEEPER
Romans 4:21 – “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”
How persuaded are you that God can do what He has promised? From the scripture, Abraham was persuaded/convinced that God was faithful to watch over His word and perform it without the help of anyone. Abraham was very old - about 100 years old - and his wife Sarah was 90 years old. Yet God told him that he would be the father of many nations. I am sure many of us will take it as a joke. Abraham, however, had faith in God and what the Bible says, “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”
Abraham had faith in God that what He had said, He was capable of doing. The reason why many of us do not turn to God often is because we are not fully persuaded. We are not persuaded that He can solve our job, marriage, and family problems. We are just not sure. Who else can do it for you if God cannot? Just think about it.
God is able because He was able to deliver the three Jewish boys from the burning fiery furnace (Daniel 3:17). He was able to give a child to Sarah, a 90-year-old woman. He was able to divide the sea for the Israelites to walk on dry land. He was able to deliver Daniel from the Lion's den. Now, take a moment and think about how far God has brought you through ‘thick and thin’. I am persuaded that there is more He has done than you can remember.
Just bring all your needs before Him in prayer and have faith because He is more than able to do it for you. Only trust and obey!
