SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS

Romans 12:11 – “Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.”

Serving God demands total focus and surrender. You must be strong because the circumstances of life can sometimes weigh you down. Many can easily give up when things are not going right. For example, a job that once challenged us can get monotonous, a once-exciting relationship can grow stale. In the same way, a daily walk with God that once inspired us can burn out.  If your prayer life is dwindling and you no longer feel like attending church, then it's time to wake up. The scripture above says, “Never be lazy but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically” (Romans 12:11).

Enthusiasm is God inspired so He is the one who can get you back on track. Be zealous with the things of God, do not slow down; keep moving. The Bible says, “They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” King David once went to war, on returning, the enemy had taken all that he left behind including his wife and children and that of his army. The Bible says, “David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him.” But David found strength in the Lord his God - 1 Samuel 30:6.

David found strength, pursued the enemies, and recovered all that they had stolen. Remember, therefore, to serve the Lord enthusiastically. You cannot slow down; keep going because with God, all things are possible.
